Why does the recipient not receive the entire email thread?
We use an industry practice that tells the recipient that the emails belong to the same thread, but unfortunately, not all email clients respect this (for example, older versions, or if specific settings are applied). This means that emails do not always show as a thread for all recipients. Here are other factors that can play a role.
Why the entire email thread does not always appear to the recipient:
- It's challenging to know how each recipient's email client is configured, but we strive to maximize the chance that our emails end up in the same thread.
- If the recipient has archived or deleted a previous email before the next one is sent, it can affect how the email client displays the thread.
- Include a short explanation in the follow-up emails that provides an overview of previous communication, which helps the recipient understand the context even if they have missed an earlier email.
- To support older email clients, we add "Re:" to the subject line of follow-up emails. These clients use the subject line to group emails into threads.
